Celebration of Life services for Kenton Doyle “K.D.” Clem are 2:00 pm, Monday, May 2, 2016 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Vernon Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
K.D. was born January 1, 1931 on a farm in Marshall, Oklahoma to Arthur and Glenda Clem, and he passed away April 26, 2016. He attended schools in Marshall and Enid, graduating from Hunter High School in 1949. After graduation he worked for the Long-Bell Lumber Company in Garden City, Kansas. In 1956, K.D. moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to work for the Everitt Lumber Company. While living in Colorado Springs, he attended and graduated from the Out West Aero Flying School, upon receiving his pilot’s license, he loved to fly over the Rocky Mountains. K.D. moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1967 and worked in the building and construction industry until he moved back to Oklahoma City in 1973 where he worked for Northrop Worldwide Aviation retiring from there in 1998.
Kenton met the love of his life, Patty Brewer in 1976 and they were married September 9, 1978, in Reno, Nevada. K.D. and Patty retired to Lake Eufaula where they enjoyed boating, fishing and just lake living while making many friends in that area.
K.D. is preceded in death by his daughter Pam Darby of Enid. Surviving family include wife Patty of the home in Perry, Oklahoma; son Brent Clem, of Newport Beach, California; daughters Leigh Ann Hardage and spouse Harold, of Little Rock, Arkansas; Nanette Winkler and spouse P.J., of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Jamie Layne and spouse Roger, of Perry, Oklahoma; and one brother, Max Clem of Wichita, Kansas. K.D. has 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials in K.D.’s name are made to Judith Karmen Hospice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
