Karen Sue Unruh

Karen-Unruh-1464256523Karen was with us for 71 years. During that time she attended Enid Schools. In Junior High and High School, she was in the band and played the saxophone. In High School, she recorded a 78 record of Melody of Love at the original KOCO TV station in Enid. Her love for music lasted a lifetime. There was one other passion and talent, interior design. It was a natural talent for her. Karen took a course with the New York School of Interior Design. She decorated hundreds of homes in Enid that were built by her father. Karen later moved to Oklahoma City, where she continued interior decorating.

Due to health concerns, she moved back to Enid and spent her time listening to music and always looking for new things to put in her home.

Karen had her challenges. Never losing her faith in God, there was always a Bible by her and she read it every morning. Through her life, she was strong, a survivor and an independent thinker. She also had a very good, soft, and kind heart.

The last month of her life, she came to terms with her situation and left it up to God.

The morning of May 24, 2016, Karen left us and is now at peace.

She is survived by her sister, Kay and extended family.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Marie Unruh; brother, Gary Unruh, and sister, Peggy Jane Unruh.

A visitation service will be Monday, May 30, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. A private burial will be in the Karoma Cemetery, Goltry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made in her memory to Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
