Jimmy Charlie Crawford

The memorial service for Jimmy “Charlie” Crawford, 71, year-old Enid resident will be Friday, February 17, 2017 at 1:00PM in the Enid First Assembly of God. Pastor Dan Barrick will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Charlie was born June 18, 1945 in Duncan, Oklahoma to William and Minnie (Williams) Crawford and died Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He attended Duncan and Lawton schools graduating from Lawton High School with the class of 1963. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He served for four years, stationed in San Diego, California. After his service he lived in Seattle, WA. For twenty years where he worked in a steel mill.

He returned to Enid in 1992 where he worked as an electrician for many years. On February 13, 1999 he married Frieda Dunlap in Drummond. The couple made their home in Enid. He was a long-time member of Enid First Assembly of God.

He was an avid golfer and loved working on different projects around the house and was a good handyman. He and Frieda were members of the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Frieda of the home, three sons, Chad Crawford and wife Amy, and Tom Crawford and wife Shannon, all of Sea-Tac, WA., and Tyler Dunlap of San Francisco, CA. and daughter Terra Swenn and husband Monty of Enid. 5 grandchildren, Cade, Cooper, Jason, Xander, and Duncan. Also surviving is one sister Glenna Poe of Yukon, OK>

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog “Bella”.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to either the Wounded warriors Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
