Jay Allison Benge, 66, of Enid, Oklahoma died peacefully on November 29th, 2016. Jay was born to Joan (Schlottach) and John Allison Benge on August 21st, 1950.

Jay graduated from Enid High School in 1968 where he met the love of his life, Cindy Johnston. They married on December 31, 1969. Jay put himself through Northwestern Oklahoma State University by apprenticing in the plumbing, heat and air trade and graduated with an accounting degree. In 1974, he returned to his hometown, Enid, and opened his own business: J.A. Benge Company.

Jay was known to be a man of great integrity, to have intense love for his family, and to demonstrate an incredible work ethic. He learned his integrity through his Cherokee heritage, of which he was extremely proud. This character trait continues to be exemplified in his two children and six grandchildren. Jay's selfless dedication to his family was proven in small and large daily acts of kindness. There were countless ways he showed his love - each and every family member never doubted that their needs came before his. Jay never missed a Sonic happy hour to deliver his wife her favorite drink: diet vanilla Coke with easy ice and easy vanilla! His facial expressions said it all when his grandchildren were present. His dedication to his professional life was clear to his customers - with his precision and analytical mind, there was never a problem too big for him to solve.

Jay is survived by his mother, Joan Neighbors of Enid, his wife Lucinda "Cindy", son Jason, his wife Cathy and their children Jacob, Caitlyn, and Max Benge; daughter Janey and her husband Mark and their children Lucy, Alice, and George Hall; his brother Stuart Benge and family; his sister Jana Benge Kluck and family. Jay was a wonderful uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Whether blood related or not, Jay always considered his in-law's close family.

Jay is preceded in death by his father, John Benge.
