The graveside services celebrating the life of Gerald Dean “Dennis” Pelfrey, 82 of Enid will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Enid Cemetery with Shane McKinzie officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Dennis was born on October 12, 1933 to Alex Goble and Bessie Thomas Pelfrey in Winchester, Kentucky and passed away June 19, 2016 in Enid. Dennis was raised and educated in Clark County. He served in the United States Air Force. He worked with the shuttle and missile program. He also lived in Lompoc and Santa Maria, California; there he worked with the chemical program. Dennis was honorably discharged in 1964.
As a civilian he worked as a property inspector until he retired in 1988. Dennis married Rita Thompson in Las Vegas, Nevada in October of 1988.
His family included his sister-in-law, Sonja Hyke; niece, Beverly Pelfrey Land and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; 3 brothers, Ike, Bobo and Melford; 3 sisters, Triva, Lela and Anna.
