The graveside services celebrating and honoring the life of Florene Ramsey, 94, of Enid, will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday December 31, 2025, in the Sentinel Cemetery with Pastor Tony Hayes officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Florene Ramsey was born October 2, 1931, to William and Minnie (Roades) Holland in Delhi, Oklahoma and passed from this life December 24, 2025, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Delhi through the eighth grade while working on her family’s cotton farm. She married Calvin Dewayne Ramsey November 24, 1950, in Sayre, Oklahoma the family began their years in Erik until later making their home in Enid where her husband worked for Kns and Potters Oil companies and Florene maintained the home and was a full-time mother to her children. The family moved to Duncan in 1957 where she worked as a Butcher. In 1962 the family moved to Wyoming and then in 1967 they returned to Enid and in 1968 moved to Sentinel where they worked, sunup to sundown in the fields and laundered clothing for others. In 1973 the couple retired and moved to Lahoma. Florene worked as a cook at Furs Cafeteria; she enjoyed this for seven years. in 1979 the couple moved to Enid where they made their permanent home. She was a devoted member at House of Prayer for many years. She was always looking to help others in any way that she could.
She is survived by her daughters Barbara and Jerry Willey, and Brenda and Jason Franz, five grandchildren, Leonard Ramsey, Patty Poslick, LeAnn Fritz, Travis Good, and Dylan Willey; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one brother, Charles Holland.
She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Ramsey sr., one son Calvin Ramsey jr., her parents; four sisters; and one brother.
Memorials may be made in her honor to House of Prayer to assist in repairing fire damage and to Elara Caring Hospice with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
