Delcea-Batterman-1463996239Funeral service for Delcea Hart-Batterman, age 90, of Enid, will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Central Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Jarrett Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Delcea was born in Eva, Oklahoma on May 11, 1926, and passed from this world surrounded by loving family members, to be with her heavenly father on May 21, 2016.

Delcea graduated from Elkhart High School in Kansas and married Marion Batterman. They farmed until he was called to service in WWII. Upon Marion’s return, they served together in Christian ministry. Marion preached and she taught Sunday School and was the pianist. As their children were growing up, she was a homemaker and devoted mother to her 3 children. Delcea then pursued her own hobbies and interests, such as taking flying lessons, bowling, crocheting, and collecting things of interest to her. She loved playing the piano, and sewing, and became the seamstress for the Gaslight Theatre, as well as performing several roles in their plays. Delcea again worked by her husband’s side, as they positively influenced many young people, while they were owners and operators of The Family Q-Spot on West Broadway. After retirement she and Marion traveled extensively, including a cruise to the Hawaiian Islands and the Caribbean. Delcea volunteered in the office at Central Christian Church, where she was a member, and served on various committees. It brought her joy to have 7 grandchildren, their spouses, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Elsie Hart, her sister Evelyn, and brothers Gerald and LeRoy, and more recently, her son-in-law, Charles F. Crites, and 2 grandsons, Neal and Alan Crites.

Remembering Delcea’s beautiful life are her loving and devoted husband of 73 years Marion, and their children Eilene Crites, Marvin and Cheryl Batterman, and Glenda and Bill Martell. Her grandchildren are Angela Bunch, Anita Milam, Russell Hobbs, Heidi Fisher, and Barry Batterman, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Our family is grateful for the kindness and care given her by the Greenbrier Homes Staff. We also wish to express our appreciation to Rev. Dr. Jarrett Banks for his many visits and prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Christian Church.
