The Memorial Service for Delbert Settlemires, age 84, will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Gordon Jantz and Stephan McCammon officiating.
Delbert was born to Milburn and Annie (Henley) Settlemires on December 4, 1932, in Coalgate, Oklahoma, and passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017, in Enid.
Delbert married Leota Walker in 1952, and they had six children. He worked as a truck driver for Star Oil in Oklahoma City and Western Commercial until his retirement. Delbert loved music, gardening, his dog B.J., and all animals. He was an avid mall walker and became an awesome cook. His grandkids’ favorites were potato soup and stew.
Delbert is survived by his children: David Settlemires, Cheryl Dick, Darlene Shepard, and Darrell Settlemires, all of Enid, and Jean Jandrakovic of Kechi, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; 22 ½ great-grandchildren; and brother Joe Settlemires of Chickasha.
He was preceded in death by his wife Leota, daughter Colleen Finefrock, and parents Milburn and Annie Settlemires.
Memorials may be made to North Garland Road Church of Christ Food Pantry.
