Beef Up the Blood Supply Labor Day Weekend!

ENID, OK - Donors will receive a glow-in-the-dark Halloween T-shirt, an all-beef hot dog courtesy of the Oklahoma Beef Council, a theme park ticket — and entry into the $10K Vacay Giveaway – Thursday, Aug. 28 & Friday, Aug. 29

Mark your calendars, donors — and meat lovers! On Thursday, August 28, and Friday, August 29, Our Blood Institute is firing up the grills at all 10 Oklahoma donor centers to help beef up the blood supply ahead of Labor Day weekend. Donors can enjoy juicy all-beef hot dogs, thanks to the tremendous support of the Oklahoma Beef Council.

Each successful donor will also receive:

A ticket to Frontier City or Hurricane Harbor
OBI’s newest Halloween T-shirt, a wicked design that glows in the dark
Automatic entry into OBI’s $10K Vacay Giveaway

Visit any Our Blood Institute donor center statewide for this year’s Pre-Labor Day blood drive.

“Although we have fun with this event, saving the lives of our family, friends and neighbors is a serious matter,” said Dr. John Armitage, president and CEO of Our Blood Institute. “We are grateful for Oklahoma Beef Council for helping us to encourage donors to take time before Labor Day weekend to help us prepare for any emergency that may occur.”

Anyone who is healthy and 16 years old* or older can give blood. Blood can be donated every 56 days and platelets can be given as often as every seven days, up to 24 times a year.

Appointments to donate can be made online at obi.org or by calling 877-340-8777.

*16-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds and provide signed parental permission; 17-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds; 18+ year-olds must weigh at least 110 pounds. Photo ID required.

    The flyer says Tuesday and Wednesday but the caption says Thursday so which day is the blood drive
