August 2, 1937 - November 21, 2025
A Celebration of Life for Betty Unruh, 88, of Enid, will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday November 26, 2025, at the Central Christian Church with Pastor Ronnie Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements made by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Betty was born on August 2, 1937, in Enid, to Riley and Leona Vice and passed away on November 21, 2025. She attended Carrier School and graduated with the Class of 1955. She attended Enid Business College and after graduating went to work for an electrical contractor as a bookkeeper. She married Dick Zaloudek right after high school. In 1960, she married Lynn Dean Unruh, and she and Lynn moved to Hutchinson, Kansas. There she continued to work for electrical contractors.
In 1963, she and Lynn opened and operated Lynn Unruh Builders, where she worked as a bookkeeper and decorator for the homes that she and her husband built. She loved her time with her daughter showing Quarter Horses all over Kansas and Oklahoma. She and Lynn also loved to travel, which they did, all over Europe. She also loved tennis, 3 wheeling, and jet skiing.
In 1981, she started her real estate career and was an active realtor until January of 2013. She loved helping clients find the homes they loved and loved the people she worked with. In 1986, her and Lynn moved back to Enid, to be close to their daughter, and her family, which was the highlight of her life. She was a very generous person and found great joy out of helping those she cared for.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Kim Welker and husband, Chuck; two grandchildren, Brandi and husband Russel Schieber, of Enid, and Dustin and wife Tori Welker, of Keys, Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren, Mikaila, Kinason, Kinadee, and Kindree Schieber and Adali, Emeri, and Colt Welker; sister Janet Gearheard of The Colony, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Unruh; her parents Riley and Leona Vice; brother John Vice; nephew Derik Vice; and brother-in-law Jerry Gearheard.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Enid Welcome Table.
