Barry Higgins (72 years old) was called home to Heaven to be with his wife on Thursday, November 20, 2025. He passed away peacefully at Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher, Oklahoma with his two loving daughters at his bedside.
Barry Alan Higgins was born on February 23,1953 in Dover Delaware to Marshall and Barbara (Greenwood) Higgins. His family later relocated to Enid where he attended school and Votech. Following high school, Barry began working at Failings, where he met the love of his life, Janetta. Barry and Janetta were married for forty-seven years and were proud to have raised three children, Aaron, Andrea, and Sara on their family farm southeast of Ames. During this time, Barry also worked in the oilfield industry and then went on to work for the City of Enid until his retirement.
In Barry’s freetime, he avidly enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time at his grandchildren’s events, and tinkering in his shop. The man had a tool for every job and would very meticulously complete it.
Barry is survived by his mother-in-law Charlotte Montcastle of Ames, son Aaron Higgins of Oklahoma City, daughter Andrea Cooper and her husband Chad of Kingfisher, daughter Sara Lewallen and her husband Kevin of Omega, brother David Higgins and his wife Donna of Weatherford, sister Nancy Speer and her husband Jack of Florida, sister DeeDee Brinker of Texas, and sister-in-law Kathy Higgins of New Jersey. Barry also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren who include his granddaughter Kira Fitzgerald and her husband Dalton of Enid, Cade, Chace, and Olyvia Cooper of Kingfisher, Laken and Ledger Lewallen of Omega, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Barry was preceded in death by his wife Janetta, parents Marshall Higgins and Barbara Griffin, brothers James and Bobby Higgins, and granddaughter Lanie Gail Lewallen.
A celebration of life service for Barry will be 2:00 PM, Friday, November 28, 2025 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wilbur Flynn officiating.
