The memorial service honoring the life of Ellis Raymond Downs, 89, will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brown-Cummings Chapel. The service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Ray was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 23, 1937 and passed away peacefully in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 21, 2026. Ray was raised in Enid, Oklahoma and was a 1955 graduate of Enid High School. Ray also attended the University of Oklahoma, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. Ray joined the Army in 1958 and was stationed in Germany where he served in the Army Security Agency until 1960. They were married in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 12, 1962.

Ray returned to Enid in 1964 with Linda and their daughter Robin, so that Ray could join his father as a Pharmacist at The Downs Pharmacy, also known as Downs Rexall Drugs. Ray’s Dad owned the pharmacy for 26 years. Ray later purchased Downs Rexall Drug from his father in 1970 and owned the drug store for 29 years. Ray and Linda were joint CEOs and truly enjoyed serving the community. Ray always said “the best part of pharmacy is helping your friends and customers and being part of a health team for your community. No matter how beautiful the physical part of the store is, it is the people, customers, employees and friends that make the store, and make it worthwhile”. In 1999, Ray sold the pharmacy to Scheffe Prescription Shop and continued what he loved by working at Scheffe’s until he retired in 2002.

Ray and Linda were married 61 years. Ray cared for Linda during her last years with empathy and love. Ray was a fabulous “girl” dad and officially classified as the best dad ever by his daughter, Robin. Ray was an excellent Grandfather and loved his grandson dearly and loved traveling to his grandson’s sporting events. He recently became a Great Grandfather while living in North Carolina, which was such highlight for him.

August 8, 1960 — June 20, 2026

Terry Wayne Travis, 65, was born in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, in August of 1960 to Charles V. Travis of Oklahoma and Anna I. Travis (nee Schlegel) formerly of Pennsylvania; and passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on June 20, 2026, after a battle with cancer.

As the result of his father's death when Terry was only nine years old, his family situation required him to develop a very strong work ethic. That trait remained a part of his character for the rest of his life. As a child he maintained a newspaper delivery route and learned the value of money and personal thriftiness.

Terry attended Roosevelt Grade School, Waller Junior High School and Enid High School. While in high school, he attended vocational-technical classes where he developed a great skill for electronics. From 1979 through 2020, he worked at various positions at Vance Air Force Base. For most of those years he was a Simulator Tech II-III and a Quality Control Inspector for flight simulators, including those for T-37, T-38, and T-1A aircraft. Through the years he was employed by various civilian contractors to the USAF. Terry lived in various locations in Enid, most recently in the Willow Lake Addition. In 2020, he retired and moved to Oklahoma City for medical reasons.

Terry liked to trade in the stock market, buy and sell firearms, tinker with electronics, learn about sports cars and follow the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team. He loved the idea of traveling in retirement, even dreaming of living abroad. Unfortunately, ill health prevented him from doing so.

His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his family. He was a son, a brother and perhaps most of all, he was Uncle Terry, a gentle soul with a huge heart of gold.

He never married nor had children of his own. He is survived by his sister Debbie A. Travis-Blakley (Patrick) of Oklahoma City, brother David W. Huff and niece Sydney R. Huff, both of Bixby, Oklahoma, nephew Shawn P. Blakley (Bryoney) of Oklahoma City, many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as a host of friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna; and stepfather Carl Huff.

A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM, in the Garden Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory. As the service will be conducted in open air, it is recommended that attendees dress casually for the hot and perhaps rainy weather.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodians of the funds.

A Celebration of Life Service for Kimberly Dawn Hedges, 57, of Fairmont, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026 at the Gymnasium at Pioneer High School, with Rev. Tommy Donaldson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Kimberly Dawn Hedges, lovingly known as "Kim" and affectionately called "Goose" by her grandchildren, left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family. She was born on August 7, 1968, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, to Debbie Guthrie and was later adopted by Billy Vaden. Kim attended Pioneer Schools and graduated with the Class of 1987. On November 7, 1987, she married the love of her life, Jamie Hedges, at Pioneer Pleasant Vale Community Church-on the day of Bedlam Football, a date neither of them would ever forget. Together they built a beautiful life and raised three sons: Hesston, Haden, and Holden.

Family was the center of Kim's world. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, and fierce protector of those she loved. As her boys grew, she dedicated herself to ensuring they always felt supported and encouraged. She worked for UPS for ten years, often starting her days before sunrise so she could be home in time to care for her family and attend every game, event, and activity possible. Whether on the sidelines or in the stands, Kim was always her boys' loudest and proudest supporter, known for her unmistakable war call and enthusiastic spirit.

As her family expanded, Kim embraced her daughters-in-law, Kaelyn, Sadee, and Melanie, with the same love and warmth she gave to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She treasured the special relationships she built with each of them. Nothing brought Kim more joy than her grandchildren. Her beloved "Team Hedges" consisted of Finn, Hyde, Jett, Huxton, Jaxon, Hank, Hadlee, Ozzy, and Jarrett. Goose delighted in spoiling her "Hooligans" with thoughtful gifts, favorite toys, candy, and treats. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she had a way of making every one of them feel uniquely loved by whispering that they were her favorite.

Kim's vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She never knew a stranger and had an extraordinary gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved. Her infectious smile, contagious laugh, and joyful spirit could light up any room. She was truly the life of the party, bringing people together and creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Though her family's hearts are heavy with loss, they find comfort in the countless memories she created and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored, the friendships she nurtured, and the many lives she touched with her kindness and generosity.

Kim is survived by her devoted husband, Jamie Hedges; her sons and daughters-in-law, Hesston and Kaelyn Hedges, Haden and Sadee Hedges, and Holden and Melanie Hedges; her eight grandsons and one granddaughter; her beloved father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clee Jay and Pat Hedges; sister-in-law Holly Capra and husband Chad; brother Keith Spoonhunter; sister Lana Johnson; Auntie Imogene Mashburn; and numerous extended family members and treasured friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Step father and mother Winston and Debbie Guthrie, grandparents Buzzy and Faith Anderson, her uncle Butch Anderson.

Kim's love, laughter, and generous heart will forever remain a guiding light to all who knew her. While she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on through the family she loved so dearly and the countless lives she brightened along the way.

Mary Etta was born in Sacramento, CA on August 19, 1947, and passed away on June 16, 2026, in Oklahoma City.

Mary Etta was christened at Bethel Community Presbyterian Church in San Leandro, California, in 1950. As the daughter of military parents, she traveled extensively throughout her childhood and had the opportunity to experience many different places and cultures. While living in England, she was among the first girls to participate in the newly organized Girl Scouts, an experience she cherished throughout her life. During her senior year, she attended and graduated from Enid High School.

Following high school, Mary Etta continued her education at Enid Business School and later completed cosmetology school, beginning a career that would allow her to combine her creativity with her love for people.

Mary Etta was a gifted and artistic person. She designed beautiful, beaded jewelry and often spent weekends selling her creations in Taos and Santa Fe while continuing her cosmetology work during the week. She had a deep appreciation for Southwestern culture and design and enjoyed decorating her home with unique furnishings and treasures, often carefully purchasing special pieces through layaway long before the days of credit cards.

One of Mary Etta's greatest joys was collecting Miss Piggy memorabilia. She delighted in searching far and wide for additions to her collection. She also had an eye for fashion and took pride in dressing with elegance and attention to detail. She loved designer clothing and jewelry and always wanted to look her best for her clients.

Known for her kindness and generosity, Mary Etta often went above and beyond for those around her. Her caring spirit and genuine interest in others turned many of her clients into lifelong friends.

On July 23, 1999, she married Gregory Veit, and together they made their home in Enid, Oklahoma. Mary Etta enjoyed recording movies and finding special films she could share with Greg. She supported her husband wholeheartedly and took great pride in making their house a warm and welcoming home. She especially loved decorating for the seasons and treasured evenings spent with Greg driving around to admire Christmas lights.

Mary Etta was an excellent cook who enjoyed discovering new restaurants and experiencing different cultures through their foods. She kept up with current events and politics and enjoyed watching Fox News.

Mary Etta was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bradley Kennedy; her mother, Goldie Ruby; her father, John Shinn; and her stepfather, Robert Ruby. She is survived by her husband Greg.

She will be remembered for her creativity, impeccable style, generous heart, and the many friendships she cultivated throughout her life. Her warmth, kindness, and love for family and friends will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary Etta's name may be made to Folds of Honor or Tunnels to Towers, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodian of the funds.

On August 14, 1965, Dennis married the love of his life, Darla Dahlem. The following year, the couple moved to Enid, where Dennis joined the electrical shop at Vance Air Force Base. While in Enid, they welcomed their son, Alen Lee, and began building a life centered on family and hard work.

In 1971, Dennis accepted a position in the refrigeration department at Ideal Foods. That same year, he and Darla were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Melia Kay, completing their family. A short time later, Dennis spent one year in Borger, Texas, working for Fish Engineering of Houston. Although the opportunity took him away from home, Oklahoma remained close to his heart.

In 1973, Dennis and his family returned to Medford, where he turned his years of experience and determination into a dream of his own. On April 3, 1973, he founded Misak Electrical and Refrigeration. Through dedication, integrity, and an unwavering work ethic, he built a respected business that faithfully served customers throughout the area for more than 45 years. Dennis remained actively involved in the business until his retirement in September 2018, when he officially closed the doors of Misak Electrical and Refrigeration.

Throughout his life, Dennis took great pride in his work, his family, and the communities he called home. His legacy is one of perseverance, craftsmanship, and service to others.

November 17, 1954 — June 14, 2026

Roger Ediger was born on November 17, 1954, in Enid, Oklahoma to Dan and Alma Ediger, and was the younger brother to Karen and Rhonda. He spent his early years on the family farm north of Kremlin, Oklahoma where his family farmed wheat, milk cows, pigs, and chickens. It was there that Roger ate the mud pies that his sister, Rhonda, would make for him,

At the age of six, Roger's family moved into Enid, where he attended Hoover Elementary School before later moving to a farm west of town where he attended Freehome, a small, three-room country school. During Roger's life, he laughed as he retold the story of how at this country school, the other boys and him at recess collected large cans from the school kitchen and dug holes in the playground until they reached water. They would then track mud into the classroom until the principal put a stop to it. Roger also remembered at the age of five, tying a rope to his wagon and pulling it out onto the dirt road in an attempt to stop the school bus. Roger finished his younger school days at Glenwood Elementary and later Waller Junior High School. Consequently, these are just early glimpses of the liveliness and determination that stayed with him throughout his life, and it was with this mischief that made his third-grade teacher, when retiring, call Roger into her classroom to give him her classroom spanking stick. For it was Roger whom she wished to have it because he was the student, she remembered using it the most.

Because his parents valued a Christian education, Roger attended Oklahoma Bible Academy, where he graduated as salutatorian. He then went on to Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas, graduating in just three years, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Economics in 1977. He graduated with highest honors and was named as the Outstanding Business Graduate for his class. While there, he met Cathy Cooprider, who later became his wife of 48 years, and they were married in Hesston, Kansas in 1977.

Roger and Cathy then returned to Enid where they later had their son, Ryan, and their daughter, Laura. During the next twenty years, Roger was involved in the family farming operation while also becoming active in agricultural organizations to shape public policy in agriculture. This led to nearly twenty-trips to Washington, D.C., to speak on behalf of farmers, and was invited to testify before Congress on several occasions. In 1990 he received a leadership fellowship through the National Center for Food and Agriculture Policy in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Roger was a part of the 3rd Oklahoma State University Agricultural Leadership Program where he met lasting friends. He additionally served in leadership roles in various farm organizations.

In 1999, Roger decided to pursue a law degree and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Law and graduated in 2002 with his Juris Doctor Degree. He immediately joined Mitchell and DeClerck Law Firm in Enid, which is Oklahoma's oldest law firm dating back to 1893. He worked and served as a partner with the law firm for almost a quarter of a century.

Roger was admitted to the Bar in Oklahoma in 2002. He was admitted to practice before all state courts and the United States District Court for the Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts. He was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Christian Legal Society. Roger had varied law practice including class actions, qui tam cases, and bankruptcy work, primarily involving Chapter 7 and Chapter 13.

In the 1990's, Roger traveled extensively to Eastern Europe and Russia, for humanitarian and religious purposes, and later became active in numerous church and community functions and organizations.

Even after becoming a lawyer, Roger's connection and love for farming remained strong, and he enjoyed working alongside his son, Ryan and his wife Stephanie who farm and ranch in Carrier, Oklahoma. He enjoyed being on the combine during harvest and would often work the fields on evenings or weekends or the mornings stopping for a cup of coffee at the grain elevator.

Roger had a wide range of interests. He ran a full marathon, liked visiting new places, enjoyed woodworking, and building things with his hands, and had an eye for design. Over the years he built a house, designed much of their current home, built toy barns for his son and grandsons, a dollhouse for his daughter, and a doll trunk for his granddaughter. When the grandchildren visited, the treehouse, which he designed and built with his grandsons, was a popular place for games and hot chocolate. Additionally, Roger enjoyed music, specifically choirs and worship music, and appreciated visiting new places. Cathy and he enjoyed traveling with each other, seeing new cites and places together.

Roger was actively involved at Crosspoint Church for decades, and Roger's faith in Jesus Christ is what he grounded and built his life around. He became a Christian at the age of 6, led to Christ by his Sunday School teacher, whose husband, interestingly, was the Doctor who had delivered Roger at the hospital when he was born. Roger constantly thanked his Savior for the death he paid on the cross for his sins. This is what anchored him throughout his two-year battle with cancer. He set an example through his steadfastness amidst trials and passed a legacy of faithfulness to Jesus Christ on to his family.

During his life, Roger faithfully honored, loved, and cared for Cathy throughout their life. He fiercely loved his children, Ryan and Stephanie, and Marc and Laura, and he cared deeply for his grandchildren, Landon, Luke, Anna Grace, and Jack. He encouraged them, prayed for them, enjoyed spending time with them, keeping up with their lives, and talking about them with pride. Today, those who share his faith take comfort in knowing that he is with Jesus, reunited also with Laura's late husband, Eric Schmidt. Roger was a friend to all and was known for his eagerness to talk with people. He will be missed for his energy, his interest in people, and the many ways he stayed involved in the lives of those around him. Even in grief, his family and friends hold to the hope that he is now at peace with his Savior.

He is preceded in death by his parents Dan and Alma Ediger along with his son-in-law, Eric Schmidt.
Memorials may be made to Tabor College with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodians of the funds. Condolences may be made online and the service may be viewed online at www.ladusauevans.com.

A Celebration of Life service for Roger will be 10:30 am Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Crosspoint Church with Rev. Asher Griffin officiating. Roger wanted a private family burial in the Enid Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Carol Lee Edwards Lambertz, 82, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026. She was born on March 22, 1944, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Minnie Adele Edwards and Howard Henry Edwards.

Enid was not simply where Carol lived — it was the center of her entire life. She loved her hometown deeply and devoted herself wholeheartedly to its people, schools, churches, organizations, and traditions. Carol represented the very best of Enid: gracious, compassionate, civic-minded, and endlessly giving. Whether volunteering, mentoring children, supporting downtown initiatives, fundraising for important causes, or simply showing up for friends and neighbors in times of need, she was a valued and dedicated citizen whose impact could be felt throughout the community she cherished so dearly.

Carol graduated from Enid High School in 1962 and went on to attend Phillips University, where she graduated in 1966. Following graduation, she married the love of her life, Richard H. "Dick" Lambertz. Together, they built a life rooted in family, faith, friendship, and service to the Enid community.

Carol began her career as a fourth-grade teacher at Garfield Elementary, a role that reflected her lifelong love for children and education. She later spent many years as a substitute teacher and after-school mentor through the Presbyterian Church. She also served as a Blue Bird and Camp Fire leader, touching the lives of countless young people with her warmth, encouragement, and steady presence.

Following Dick's passing in 1999, Carol helped close the family business, Lambert's, which had long been a beloved part of downtown Enid.

Carol was a devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and was deeply involved in many civic, charitable, and community organizations throughout her life. She served several terms as president of Chapter FA, P.E.O. and volunteered her time and talents with the American Red Cross, Community Development Support Association (CDSA), Loaves and Fishes, and St. Joseph Catholic School. She was also a member of Junior Welfare League and served on the original board of Enid Main Street, where she could often be found climbing ladders and hanging lights in downtown Enid during the holidays.

An avid golfer, Carol was a proud member of the Oakwood Women's Golf Association. She also loved knitting and adored her Maltese dogs.

Carol had an extraordinary gift for friendship. She made every person she encountered feel valued, loved, and important. Her kindness and generosity touched countless lives. Carol treasured time spent with dear friends around the card table. She also loved traveling the world with friends and especially cherished faith-centered trips alongside priests and fellow parishioners.

Her devotion to family was unmatched. In fifth grade, her daughter proudly nominated her for "Mother of the Year," an honor that perfectly reflected the way Carol cared for and nurtured those around her. One of her favorite traditions in later years was helping select the recipient of the Dick Lambertz Memorial Award at the annual United Way meeting.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie and Howard Edwards; her beloved husband, Dick Lambertz; her parents-in-law, Adolph and Catherine Lambertz; her uncle and aunt, Harold and Pauline Edwards; and her uncle, Estelle Edwards.

She is survived by her children, Mark Lambertz and wife Ann of Overland Park, Kansas; Gant Lambertz and wife Shelly of Oklahoma City; and Brooke Lambertz of Overland Park, Kansas. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Joey, Jake, Alex, Zach, Loren, and Mac; her sister Cheryl Watson and husband Salty of Austin, Texas; nephews Matt and Brad; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-nephews, and great-nieces who adored her.

Carol's life was defined by faith, compassion, generosity, and love for others. Her legacy lives on not only in her family, but in the countless people, organizations, and corners of Enid that are better because she was part of them.

You are invited to celebrate Carol's life during a Wake on Thursday, June 18, at 6:00 p.m. at Henniger-Hinson Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 19, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Rev. Alex Kroll and Mark Mason will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carol's memory may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School, United Way of Enid, or Our Daily Bread.
