ENID, OK - This is Red Ribbon Week at Glenwood Elementary School. As part of the special week Tuesday was designated as Orange Out. The theme was to Stampede on Drugs by dressing like a cowboy or wearing OSU Orange.

Glenwood had some very special guests Tuesday morning including EPS officials, OSU's Pistol Pete, Bullet and the Spirit Rider. The kids (and adults) were very excited. Pistol Pete took time to lead the kids in the Orange Power chant and he also took pictures of the students and posed with several teachers.

Enid native, Elise Wade, is the current Spirit Rider. The Spirit Rider is a symbol of pride that rallies fans on football game days and to the spirit of the Old West on which OSU was founded. The Spirit Rider enters the stadium on Bullet, the official horse of OSU.

Red Ribbon Week Schedule:
Monday is Red-y to live drug free - wear read to kick off Red Ribbon Week.
Tuesday is Orange out - dress like a cowboy or wear OSU orange.
Wednesday is Drug free from head to toe - Crazy day (wear crazy hats, socks, hair etc.)
Thursday is follow your dreams, don't do drugs! - Pajama Day
Friday is team up against drugs - wear your favorite team gear!

Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States. The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to present a visible commitment to living a safe, healthy, and drug-free life. The campaign is designed to create awareness concerning the problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs and to support the decision to live a drug-free lifestyle.
