Burial will follow in the Waukomis Cemetery. The services will be live streamed on the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Facebook Page.

Brad was born July 20, 1963, to Dwayne and Margaret McLerran in Chickasha, Oklahoma, while Dwayne was serving in the Army in South Korea, and passed from this life October 9, 2026, in Norman, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Enid graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1981. He then went on to attend Northwestern Oklahoma College, Alva, Oklahoma and then graduating from the University of Oklahoma with his Juris Doctorate, MA, and BA. He began his career with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Office of Consumer Advocacy as Consumer Advocate/Deputy Advocate General. His desire to serve the public continued as he joined OU as a Contact Center Coordinator working with the Department of Human Services in child welfare requirements.

Brad worked as a shift supervisor at B. Dalton Booksellers, where he met Tina in 1983. What began as a friendship grew over the years into love and, on December 29, 2001, marriage in Norman. Together they shared 24 years of love, companionship, and adventure.

Brad enjoyed hunting deer and turkey and took pleasure in teaching Tina how to hunt and shoot as well. He was extremely proud of his family history and read extensively about the Civil War. His fascination with history also extended to his love of black powder rifles and pistols, which he preferred to use when hunting. He enjoyed fishing for catfish and trout, watching movies, and cheering on the OU Sooners, with a special fondness for the OU Women’s Softball team.

Brad treasured the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and was deeply loved by them in return. He also had a special place in his heart for the dogs and cats he rescued, finding great joy in caring for them. Brad always went out of his way to make those around him feel special. He remembered birthdays and other special occasions and made an effort to let the people he loved know that they were remembered and cared for.

Brad had a strong faith in God. He attended worship at the Church of Christ with his Mom and Dad when he came for a weekend visit. Those weekends were a special time spent together, creating memories that will always be close to our hearts. God’s love brought Brad comfort and strength throughout his life. It brings us peace to know that Brad is now in God’s arms. We miss him more than words can describe, but we hold onto the hope of seeing him again someday.

Brad is survived by his wife, Tina McLerran, of the home; his daughters, Ashley Johnson and her husband, Chad, of Lindsay, Oklahoma; Jessica Bigbee and her husband, Michael, of Norman; and Emily Berryhill and her husband, Blake, of Lindsay; and his son, Brian Ozment, of Norman.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bradley and McKenzi Johnson, Tony Gomez, Blake Jr., Joseph, and Jeanna Berryhill; his parents, Dwayne and Margaret McLerran, of Enid; his mother-in-law, Marie Cox, of Norman; his brother, Brian McLerran and his wife, Kelli, of Enid; his sisters, JJ McLerran and her partner, Ray, of Sand Springs, and April Cox and her husband, Matt, of Enid; his brother-in-law, Randy Fluman, of Kingsville, Texas; his sister-in-law, Melissa Callaway and her husband, Matt, of Norman; nephews Andrew, Myles, Joaquin, Matthew, and Andrew James; and nieces Maggie, Rozlen, and Corinthia.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers with Brown-Cummings, a life celebrating home serving as custodian of the funds.
