September 11, 1954 — May 4, 2026
A Celebration of Life Service for Steven (Doc) Holliday, age 71, of Enid, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30pm, Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Gary Wilburn officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Steve was born on September 11th, 1954, in Holton, KS to Merle and Lillian (Dierking) Holliday and passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2026, at his home in Enid, OK.
Steve lived in Holton, KS until after graduation from Holton High School. His education continued at vo-tech in Topeka, KS where he was employed in welding after receiving certification. Years later, he started a career in medical engineering at Stormont Vail Hospital, also in Topeka. Steve joined General Electric Medical, taking him to Enid, OK where he would meet his wife, Bertie. He finished his career with Digi-Rad Medical, retiring in March of 2020.
Steve enjoyed the game of golf, combining his love of the outdoors and being with good friends out at Pheasant Run Golf Course. Every year he would return to Holton, KS for the traditional deer hunt with his hometown friends. He was a jack of all trades- he could fix or build anything, including building several family homes. If you needed electronic help with arcade games, popcorn machines, home appliances, etc, Doc was there. He was always quick to help anyone in need. He enjoyed NASCAR, the Kansas City Chiefs, working on cars, and his cold (or room temp) Coors Light.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Bertie; children, Chad (Chloe) Holliday, Brandi Holliday, Cheri Holliday, Stevie Holliday, and Paige (Trevor) Galusha; ten grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, Gary Holliday and Dennis Holliday (Carla); niece, Sarah and nephew, Sam; beloved pets, Maggie and Izzie; and lots of good friends with treasured memories.
Memorial contributions in Steve's name may be made to ACG Hospice, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodians of the funds.
