The memorial service to celebrate the life of Thelma Ann Travis, 88, of Edmond, OK will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Enid, with Pastor Jonathan Meyer officiating and burial taking place at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Arrangements are under the guidance of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Thelma was born on August 1, 1937, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Lillian (Adams) and Charles Bokis, the youngest of five children. She grew up attending church with her parents where she was baptized as a child and later joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was confirmed in 1956. Thelma attended Enid Public Schools where she graduated from Enid High School in 1955. She married Ray Travis, and together they built a life centered around family, raising five children.
Thelma was passionate about serving others as a Volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital, delivering meals for Enid Mobile Meals, and serving many years with the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Thelma worked various office positions including Enid Clean Clothes Rental, Phillips University, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was the head bookkeeper before retiring. She was an avid gardener and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Travis; her son, Richard Travis; her daughter, Theresa “Kim" Mullen; and her brothers; Duane Stafford, Paul Bokis, and Charles Bokis Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda White and husband Rex, and Kathy Travis, both of Edmond; one son, Danny Travis of Enid; her sister, Virginia Evers of Hico, Texas, fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; along with extended family and loved ones who will cherish her memory.
