August 30, 1935 — April 15, 2026
Graveside services for Jerry Allan Whitsitt, age 90, of Enid, Oklahoma, formerly of Emporia, Kansas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, Kansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Jerry was born on August 30, 1935, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Gene Stansbury and Bernica (Morris) Whitsitt. His mother later married G.C. Whitsitt, who adopted Jerry at the age of five and helped shape the man he would become. Jerry often said he was blessed to have had two great fathers.
Jerry passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family.
Most of all, Jerry loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jerry was a man of strong character who lived by the values he taught his sons-never lie, have integrity, and work hard. He led by example, showing no favoritism among his boys and making sure each of them knew they were equally loved.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Jerry was a builder and craftsman who could build and fix just about anything-from watches and furniture to houses-and spent the last 15 years of his career building McDonald's restaurants across the United States.
Above all, Jerry was devoted to his family, and his legacy lives on through the values he instilled in them.
Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Brent Whitsitt; and his brother, Ronald Whitsitt.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret Ann Whitsitt; three sons, Danny Whitsitt and wife Jill, Dirk Whitsitt and wife Sheryl, and Darin Whitsitt and wife Gina; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; his brother, Clark Whitsitt; his sister, Linda Hogan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
