LaVonda Mae Wentworth

October 14, 1936 - March 29, 2026

LaVonda “Vondie” Mae Wentworth went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2026. A lifelong resident of Enid, Oklahoma, she was born to Raymond and Harriette Brewer on October 14, 1936, and graduated from Enid High School in 1955. LaVonda lived a life marked by a deep love for her family and the community she called home.

On February 5, 1956, she married Donald Lee Wentworth at Davis Park Christian Church. Together they shared a beautiful life over 67 years of marriage, rooted in faith, friendship, and steadfast devotion. Their marriage was deeply admired by their family and stood as a model of enduring love and commitment.
Before starting her family, LaVonda worked at the Selective Service System and in the Military Personnel Office at Vance Air Force Base. While she valued those roles, her greatest joy was being the heart of her home. She was a wonderful cook, a caring mother, and a cherished grandmother whose kindness and grace left a lasting impression.

She treasured lifelong friendships and remained actively involved in the Enid community throughout her life. Beginning in 1972, she was a dedicated member of Beta Sigma Phi, serving on committees and in leadership roles over the years. She especially enjoyed volunteering and the fellowship she shared through her sorority.

She is survived by her son Randy and his wife Kelli, and grandson Zak, of Durango, Colorado; her son Jerry and his wife Carol, of Tuttle, Oklahoma; her grandson Tanner and his wife Kylee, and great-grandsons Beau and Boone, of Yukon, Oklahoma; and her granddaughter Carli and her husband JB, of Littleton, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Harriette Brewer; her brothers, Everette Brewer and Ronnie Brewer; and her husband, Donald Lee Wentworth.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, at the chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
