The Mass of Christian burial for Billy Dale Underwood, 75-year-old Enid resident is 11:00AM Saturday, January 31, 2026, in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Mason will officiate. A prayer of St. Joseph's Chaplet will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, at 6:00PM in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Ft. Sill Cemetery, Lawton at 11:00AM Monday, February 2, 2026.
Billy was born September 26, 1950, in Enid to Harry and Betty (Goeller) Underwood and died Monday, January 26, 2026, in Integris Bass Health Center in Enid.
Billy attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1969. After graduation he was drafted into the United States
Army and served in Korea during the Vietnam War. After his service he returned to Enid. On September 8,1973 he married Teresa Wills in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Enid. Billy first worked with Munger Seed Company. He then began a career with Halliburton Service. He worked with Halliburton for over 35 years. Billy grew up in the Lutheran faith but converted to the Catholic Church. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great. When he was in High School, he was a tenor in the Madrigal Singers.
He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Teresa, his daughter Kristina and husband Scott Lounsberry of Lake Charles, LA. and his son, Bryce Underwood and wife Dezirae of Enid. Grandchildren; Elijah Underwood, Will Lounsberry, Madison Blondie Underwood, Maizy Underwood and Quinn Underwood. Two brothers Chester and Jerry Underwood and sister, Debbie Goff. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also, his very special friend Diva Marie Therese Maltese.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Bill and Lupe Wills, one brother David Underwood.
