She grew up in Enid. Debbie worked as a cook at Wagon Wheel Café for several years. She then was a caregiver at Enid State School. Debbie followed her heart, going back to the kitchen at Wyatt’s Cafeteria and later Ritchell’s. At a young age, she accepted Christ as her savior and was a faithful member of Grayson Missionary Baptist Church. She sewed her own clothes and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Debbie was involved in her kids’ lives, being their first coach in many sports that they played in. Debbie loved to have cookouts with her family and Sunday dinners. She cooked for her community and had many gatherings at the Southern Heights Building. Debbie loved people in general. She never met a stranger and was a very nice person, giving the shirt off of her back to help anyone if she needed to. Debbie always carried a beautiful smile and never complained about anything. She would try to find answers to fix every problem, and always gave good advice. Debbie loved working in her yard and planting beautiful flowers. She loved all of her family and tried to help in any way that she could. Debbie had a million dollar smile, that would light up a room any day. She had a heart of gold. Debbie had a long battle with brain cancer, which she became an advocate in Oklahoma City. She fought a good fight and never gave up. She was a strong woman and stayed faithful to God.
