Steven Lynn Mondoux

April 29, 1971 – November 27, 2025

Steven Lynn Mondoux, 54, Enid, Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on Thanksgiving, November 27, 2025.

Steve was Born in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 29, 1971 to Steve and Helen Mondoux. In his early days, he actually liked art. He loved to draw and eventually found his calling: cars. Steve had a lifelong passion for working on cars. A talented and dedicated mechanic, he could fix almost anything placed in front of him. He loved the thrill of racing and the community that came with it. Steve was known for his generosity, and he was always willing to help someone with their car, no matter the time or situation. His kindness, skill, and willingness to help others, touched countless lives.

In 2024, when his mother Helen suffered a severe stroke, Steve immediately stepped in as her sole caregiver. Day and night he cared for her with extraordinary patience, gentleness, and love, managing medications, appointments, meals, and every detail of her recovery until the very end. His devotion to his mother was the quiet cornerstone of his life.

Steve’s greatest joys were family time, the roar of a perfectly tuned engine, and the gratitude of someone whose car he brought back to life.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Antonio Washington II and his sister, Michelle LeAnne Cooper. He is survived by his parents, Steve and Helen Mondoux of Enid, OK; his daughters, Brandi and Mylissa Mondoux both of Enid, OK, his son, Geoffrey Franklin (and partner Diamond Clare) of Winfield, KS, Siblings, Tommy Mondoux (and wife Seana) of Enid, OK, and Felicia Mondoux (and friend Chourse Young) of Oklahoma City, OK and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of family and friends who loved him deeply.

A Tribute from His Family

To our brother Steve, You were the kindest, gentlest, most selfless man we’ve ever known. You never sought attention or praise—you just showed up, fixed what was broken, and took care of the people you loved without ever keeping score. You gave Mom dignity and comfort in her hardest years, and you gave all of us a living example of what it means to love unconditionally. The driveway will never look the same without your radio playing and your hood up and our lives will never feel quite as safe without you here to fix anything that went wrong. We are proud to be your family, grateful for every memory, and certain that heaven just gained the best mechanic it’s ever seen. We know you are in good company with your sister and nephew. Until we meet again, keep the engines running upstairs. We love you forever. Rest Easy Brother, you earned it.

To our dad. “Dad, you taught us the value of hard work, the joy of helping others, and the thrill of chasing your passions. We will carry your love, laughter, and lessons with us always. We love you and miss you everyday.

To my son, I just want you to know how much I really did appreciate you taking care of me. I know sometimes it wasn’t easy, but you did it anyway. I know you are with Michelle and Antonio. I miss you and will always love you Steven, love mom.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, December 5, 2025 at Amy Stittsworth Funeral Services, 2400 N. Washington St. Enid, OK 73701.
