The graveside service for Sandra Louise Crabtree is 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Sandra Louise Hoeltzel, 86, was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on May 10, 1939.
The family moved to a farm in Meno, OK, where she attended schools and graduated from Ringwood High School in 1957. She sang in a band with her father and uncle, participating in motorcycle clubs, where she met her future husband, James Crabtree. They were married on May 18, 1959. From this union, they had five daughters: Shelley, Sheilla, Shawnna, Sharrla and Sherrey. In 1989, they adopted Lynzee Crabtree.
Sandra raised her girls for several years, then got them paper routes. Eventually, she took on the Enid News & Eagle paper routes herself, as each daughter graduated high school and moved on to other things. She took on the job of ticket sales for the Kiwanis Club rides at Meadowlake for several years. Sandra went to work for Bass Hospital for a number of years before retiring. She then began working at the Sister's Closet at the YWCA before her health forced her to leave.
Sandra is survived by Shelley (Wallace) Culver of Benton, KS, Sheilla (Joel) Anderson of Minot, ND, Shawnna Paine (Paul Clark, fiancee) of Enid, OK, Sharrla Longpine Of Wichita, KS, and Lynzee (Karrisa) Crabtree of Enid, OK; six grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Siblings include Mark (Joyce) Hoeltzel of Enid, OK, Rebekah Stevens of Enid, OK, and Debbra (Tom) Stevens-Chattam of Enid, OK.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, James L. Crabtree; her daughter, Sherrey Lynne Crabtree; and 7 brothers and sisters.
