Bobbie Lou Lewis

June 2, 1945 - July 31, 2025

Celebration of Life Service for Bobbie Lewis, 80, will be Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 2:00 pm in Baptist Village Chapel with Dr. Matt Miles officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation with the family present will be Monday evening from 5:00 – 6:00 pm at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Bobbie Lewis was born to Robert Fredric Spillman, Sr, and Sophia Doris McClure Spillman on June 2, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her family relocated to Houston, Texas, where she attended and graduated from Aldine High School in 1965 as a Lieutenant of the Vaqueras Drill Team. She married and had three children. She remarried on December 4, 1982, to Donald Wayne Lewis at Memorial Baptist Church in Houston. She and her husband then joined First United Methodist Church in Houston before moving to Nowata, Oklahoma, where they joined First United Methodist Church of Nowata. In Nowata, Bobbie established and maintained a housekeeping business successfully until retirement in 2019. In March 2024, Bobbie moved to Enid, Oklahoma, to reside at Baptist Village, near the family of her daughter. She attended chapel services weekly at Baptist Village. Bobbie went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2025, passing peacefully surrounded by love.
Bobbie loved spending time serving dinners in the church kitchen of FUMC of Nowata each Wednesday night and during church events. Bobbie loved children dearly, working in the nurseries of every church she attended.
Bobbie’s hobbies were dancing, gardening, crafts, and crochet. She was successful with all of them.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Gary Shanks; stepdaughter, Donna Cogdill; parents and sister, Judy Smith.

She is survived by her children, Tad Shanks of Katy, Texas, Carrie Villarreal of Enid, and Wayne Lewis of Tulsa; brother, Robert Spillman, Jr. of Magnolia, Texas; 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Center.
