A Celebration of Life service for Mervyn Dean Unruh, 79, of Enid will be 2:00 PM, Friday August 1, 2025, at Anderson-Burris Chapel with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Dean was born on April 8, 1946, in Enid, Oklahoma to Harold and Leona (Koehn) Unruh and passed away on July 29, 2025. He married Marsha (Sowle) Unruh on April 10, 1964, in Oklahoma City and they had three children: Michael, Mark, and Monty Unruh. Dean enjoyed restoring antique tractors and stationary engines. He restored his parents’ 1931 Chevy Coupe and 1948 Chevy Fleetline and restored his 1953 Cushman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and any family games.
Dean worked for Enid Electric Motor service for 15 years, Farmland Industries for 29 years, and Mid-Continent Packaging for 5 years. He was a member of the Enid Region Antique Automobile Club, Cushman Club of America, and Hallmark Independent Baptist Church. Family gatherings were his favorite, and he loved his faithful canine, Joy.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha; three children Michael Unruh of Enid, Dr. Mark Unruh and wife Jennifer of Peru, Kansas, and Monty Unruh and wife Heidi of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren Tony, Brace, Braylee, and Jolie; 4 great-grandchildren Elara, Tucker, Ember, and Lilah; and his brother Merle Unruh.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Marlin and Maynard; and sister Marilyn Unruh.
