ENID, OK - According to sources at the City of Enid, they are working with facilitating financing for the Golden Ticket theater chain for a new movie theater. It would be 7 screens in The District, land the City owns. This is early and not a done deal.
The location would be south of Colton's in the area that was once part of the Lahoma Courts.
There will be a hearing in August for the Garfield County Industrial Authority to issue $10 million in bonds to help Golden Ticket finance it.
It won’t require a vote of the people & wouldn’t be added to the sales tax or property tax. The bonds include a tax credit so that will give them a lower interest rate.
The bonds will be sold to banks or investment firms so City of Enid residents are not liable for the $10 million.
Golden Ticket Cinemas is a movie theater chain with locations in several states including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and West Virginia. The Shawnee 6 + ELITE in Shawnee, OK is one of their locations.
