I have not tried the fruit pies because I was definitely disappointed by their Twinkies. They lost their moistness and flavor that made them so hard to resist back in the day. Dang shame because I used to love their fruit pies. Those pudding pies used to be good as well.

I am older lol but i than how can it be a cherry pie? ive been looking for the Cherry pies but i didnt know they now have no cherries??? i found that walmart carry them but now i think ill just have to pass i tried the lil doughnuts and i taste the difference in the dough tastes different!! Thank you for letting me know i also would of loved to have there lemon pies/ do they even make them anymore? i dont care for the apple

I ate them and ended up choking to death because some foreign object was in the filling and I end up with stomach aches. I had to go to the doctor and get a cat scan.

Hostess makes this 10 pack of 100 calorie cherry pies. Since I had a Kroger digital coupon for $2.49, I bought a box.
Now mind you, I used to love back in 1981 plugging a vending machine with 50 cents for a calorie/carb loaded Hostess cherry, peach or blueberry pie. With a .25 cent carton of milk-that was lunch. That would give me enough energy to go to classes at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Back to 2023. These Hostess 100 calorie cherry pies are a joke. They are the size of a fig newton. Only the crust tastes familiar. They don’t even put any cherries in them, just the cherry glom. I won’t be buying them again. I will just have to rely on my memories of the past, and enjoy a once a year treat of Marie Callender Cherry pie(which is VERY GOOD for frozen) for our New Years Eve celebration.

I bought a small case of the Hostess Cherry Pies as a special treat when I do something exceptional (kinda of small personal reward and slight motivation)… I did something in astrophotography of merit and opened the case and one of the pies. OMG bad and small. Not the pie I remember from so long ago. Hostess… fire some MBAs and get some ownership of the product

In reply to Sheila Morris. I didn't know how else to reply and I know it's late but everyone on here is SO right! Hostess has changed DRASTICALLY! Yes the fruit pies have gone way down hill. No fruit inside and just jelly. No nice flakey crust with that nice sugar on the outside. The creme filled cupcakes have lost there taste. There is just no flavor. It's like eating something with no sugar taste. Just flat. The worst for me are the Raspberry Zingers. My absolute favorite. They have made them smaller and the Raspberry flavor is gone! Flat tasting. Not sweet enough. Very disappointing over all with ALL Hostess products. I gave quit buying them completely.

I had just bought some and I thought it was less than a month ago apparently it was about a month and two weeks anyway I had bought the cherry which are used to love and still do as long as I eat them the day that I buy them well I didn’t see the expiration date at first so I took a big bite and I thought this is disgusting it was 35 days expired I could’ve swore that I bought it less than a month ago I guess they just don’t have as long as the shelf life as they used to it’s actually kind of sad because when I was a kid I used to beg for those and now I’m switching to a different company that make miniature versions which I’m perfectly fine with (sorry if it don’t make sense I was voice typing) ALSO not to mention I now have three or four expired cherry pies from hostess and I’m not sure of the other company what it’s called I know the box when I see it though

Hostess ? We had a Hostess Outlet in Malden, Massachusetts, It employed 60 People that loved their Jobs. And collected a basic Paycheck that supported their Families- Best products ever. Corporate Rule Steamrolled them flat, Them Hostess Pies are gone forever. Twinkies..Gone Too..
I don’t know what they think they are Doing Now with these Sub standard excuses for the real thing, but They SHOULDN’T BE CALLING THIER PRODUCTS “HOSTESS”.

I just picked up a cherry pie in a box and it was terrible. Not so much the filling as the crust which had a bitter taste to it. I think the last time I had a Hostess fruit pie was back when they came wrapped in the wax paper but this new iteration in the box just tastes OFF. I wanted to leave a comment with Hostess but the form wanted my address and phone number and too much information to bother with. Luckily I’ll just add my complaints to this blog. Happy New Year everyone, stay safe and stay away from these damn pies!!!

I live in Memphis, and some of my favorite childhood memories were going to the Dolly Madison outlet stores and loading up on Snoballs, Ding Dongs and Hostess blackberry and peach fried pies.

Although these are based in South Carolina, they’re some of the best fried pies I’ve ever had. A coworker lives there and once sent me a box. A+++

I noticed Hostess Apple Pie “my favourite” are not the same as they were maybe 15 years ago… a total disappointed, but this story has a happy ending… I was at Dollar Tree the other day and I noticed they had Little Debbie Apple Pies in a paper bag (kinda like the old Hostess used to be packaged like) and I thought….. ok let’s give it a try…. I’m not sure how close it tasted like the old Hostess Apple Pie but that taste brought me 15-20 years back so the taste must be similar and I’m happy about it…. I think it taste like that “fried” crust that you guys were talking about!

I have had Entenmann’s minis as of October 2020 and they are decent. I was addicted to lemon and Apple Hostess pies but now they are total crap. Hostess has taken a line of products that were sublime in many ways and made them disgusting. You can’t even eat them they are so bad. Someone should try to revive the pies and make a fortune!!

I used to love hostess cherry pies. Me and my dad when I was a kid. We used to go shopping and Dyersburg. There was a pool room there that would let me come in with my dad. He would buy us a drink and a hamburger. Best hamburgers ever. Let the thing I remember most was getting a hostess cherry pie. They are nothing now like they used to be! I wish they start making them like they used to again.
