Walk Of Fame Ceremony

The 2026 Enid Walk of Fame (WOF) ceremony is rescheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 4 p.m. in Grand Ballroom C, Stride Bank Center.

This year’s ceremony will honor James “Doug” Frantz and posthumous honoree Robert W. “Bob” Dense for their exceptional service, leadership and lasting contributions to the Enid community.

The Enid Walk of Fame award is bestowed upon individuals who have:

demonstrated a lifetime of service to the community,
have made an extraordinary contribution, or
have performed an act of selflessness or statesmanship for Enid.

Each year, this annual award is given by the Mayor on behalf of the City Commission during the Cherokee Strip Days celebration commemorating Enid's early pioneer spirit and heritage.

James “Doug” Frantz, the living honoree, has devoted his life to service through military sacrifice, civic leadership and volunteerism. A Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Frantz became a respected business and community leader following his military service. He served as president of the Rotary Club of Enid and Enid Noon AMBUCS, supported numerous nonprofit organizations and served two terms as Mayor of Enid. His dedication to improving the quality of life for others has made a lasting difference in the community.

Robert W. “Bob” Dense, the posthumous honoree, was a successful businessman, community leader and volunteer whose influence helped shape Enid for more than five decades. As president and CEO of Dense Mechanical Contractors, he built a successful company while dedicating himself to civic service. Dense served in leadership roles with the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce, St. Mary’s Mercy Hospital, Enid Rotary Club, United Way of Enid and numerous educational, cultural and charitable organizations. His commitment to mentoring youth, supporting local causes and strengthening community institutions left a lasting impact on Enid.
