Stargazing: Total Lunar Eclipse
March 13 @ 10:57 pm - March 14 @ 5:00 am

The total lunar eclipse will occur on March 14-15, 2025. It will last approximately 65 minutes, during which the Moon will shift from its usual bright white to a deep red or brown shade.
The total lunar eclipse on March 13-14, 2025, will last just over six hours, beginning with a penumbral eclipse — when the moon enters Earth’s fuzzy outer shadow and loses brightness — from 10:57 p.m. to 12:09 a.m. There will then be a partial phase — when the moon begins to enter Earth’s darker umbral shadow and starts to turn red — from 12:09 a.m. to 1:26 a.m.
Totality — when the whole moon is within Earth’s umbra — will last 65 minutes, from 1:26 a.m. to 2:31 a.m. The spectacle then reverses, with totality followed by a partial phase from 2:31 to 3:47 a.m. and a penumbral phase from 3:47 to 5 a.m.
