ENID, OK - The YWCA Enid is selling tickets and seeking sponsors for its annual luncheon and purse auction. Purses with Purpose, YWCA’s major fundraiser, will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm at the Stride Bank Center.
Individual tickets are $60 and tables of eight are $500. Tickets, tables, and event sponsorships are available at www.ywcaenid.com, bit.ly/2021Purses, or by calling the YWCA at 580-234-7581.
The event will have an auction filled with an array of designer purses and other specialty items. YWCA will also recognize their Volunteer of the Year and honor the 2021 Woman of the Year. Local survivors of interpersonal violence directly impacted by YWCA’s services will be featured as the guest speakers.
“We are excited to feature local survivors as our guest speakers this year,” said Courtney Strzinek, YWCA Executive Director. “We hope to highlight the true nature of domestic violence and the impact YWCA Enid is making on our community. We are thankful these survivors are willing to share their powerful stories of resilience and recovery.”
Purses with Purpose also includes YWCA’s annual organization report, a delicious meal, and the Louis Vuitton Purse Raffle.
Each year, a brand-new, genuine Louis Vuitton is graciously donated to be raffled off at Purses with Purpose. This year’s prize is a beautiful Louis Vuitton OnTheGo MM bag. The name says it all: OnTheGo MM takes care of business or shopping, with plenty of room for a busy woman’s essentials. It features Giant Monogram canvas in Grey. Twin Toron top handles and two shoulder straps offer several different carry styles for extra versatility.
Raffle tickets are available for $10 each at the YWCA Front Desk or online at bit.ly/2021LVRaffle. The winner will be chosen during Purses with Purpose on July 15th. Need not be present to win.
The YWCA is also seeking donations for their silent auction, specifically high-end and designer purses in excellent condition and other specialty items. Donations can be dropped off at the YWCA Front Desk at 525 S. Quincy from 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. Contact YWCA Enid at 580-234-7581 with any questions on how to donate.
Funds raised at the event allow YWCA to maintain their vital programs and services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. These services include the Crisis Center Shelter, SANE program offering forensic exams to rape victims in a supportive and comfortable setting, counseling services, My Sister’s Closet community thrift store, and youth programs.
Purses with Purpose will help YWCA positively impact countless women and children in Enid and the surrounding area. With the community’s support, YWCA can continue their mission to empower women and eliminate racism in Northwest Oklahoma.
