Enid City Parks Enid Park Board is looking for volunteers to adopt city parks. There are 29 parks available for adoption, said Carolyn Nicholas, board president. “We can’t keep up with all the park needs for a city our size with our budget. They are hard to maintain and keep looking good all year,” Nicholas said. Individuals or groups are invited to volunteer time to do watering, trash pickup and notify the city if there are any limbs that need to be removed. Anyone considering a monetary donation can make it to Enid Park Board, a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization. Watering newly planted trees during the summer also is important. The city has planted about $50,000 worth of trees in recent years, and Nicholas said no park has a sprinkler system. Any group or individual may volunteer by contacting Nicholas at 234-8751 or Park Superintendent Ben Painter at 234-0400. Does your business or product need it's own web page?
