Virginia Joann Waggoner (King)

A Celebration of Life Service for Virginia “Joann” Waggoner age 84 of Enid will be at the Billings Union Cemetery on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, 2:00 pm with Rev. Gail Edmison officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Friends may come by the funeral home and sign the book on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Joann was born March 6, 1933 in Oklahoma City to Earl “Fuzz” and Jo Chilson King and passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in St. Mary’s Regional Hospital.

She attended school in Billings graduating in 1951 and later attended Central State University receiving her Teaching degree. Joann later went to Phillips University and received her Master’s Degree. She married Max A. Waggoner on October 11, 1952 in Enid and he passed away November 15, 2014. She taught school in Billings and at Hoover Elementary until her retirement. She later became the Director of Foster Grandparent Program at the Enid State School until her health required her to retire. Joann then volunteered at The Commons Nursing Home.

Joann is survived by her son Roger Waggoner of Enid, daughter Joella Wheeler and husband Rob of Yuzahno-Sakhalinsk, Russia, grandchildren, Tyson and Cara, Kama and Flynn, Derek and Teresita, and Shane, great grandchildren, Landon, Maya, and Liam, a sister Barbara DeVault and several nieces and nephews.
