ENID, OK - July 8, 2017 - A long time Enid eatery has closed the doors after 23 years in business. Phil's BBQ located at 2209 N. Grand officially announced their closing on Facebook on July 7, 2017.

Due to unexpected situations and the desire to retire on the horizon, Phil and Jana Spellins decided close the doors of Phil's BBQ. The couple said, "We have enjoyed serving you and appreciate all of the support and loyal customers."

Phil's BBQ opened in 1994 in another location and built a loyal following over the years. Most diners were shocked by the news but left positive comments and congratulations on social media. Mike Marshall said, "Always enjoyed eating there. Good food and great folks. Thanks and happy retirement!"

Jayson Ellis posted, "Thank you for the best barbecue in Enid. You will be missed." Josef Millis said, "Best bar b que in town. Been eating there 14 years." And Kathy Long Disney noted, "I hate to hear this! I don't know if I can survive without their pulled pork!"
