NOC Enid Mackie Observatory

ENID, OK - The Northern Oklahoma College observatory is a pre-fabricated structure 16 feet in diameter with an automatically revolving dome. Inside the dome you’ll find a 14-inch research grade telescope that is remotely operated by a computer.

With the use of astrological software an observer can select an object in the night sky through the computer and remotely point the research telescope towards the object. The telescope along with camera software allow a digital camera on the back of the telescope to photograph the object and send back the color photograph.

So grab the kids and drop by the Northern Oklahoma College Enid Mackie Planetarium & Observatory.

For more info call Bob at (580) 548-2399. Located at Randolph & Michael Hedges, just north of Briggs Auditorium. Appointments are available for large groups if scheduled in advance.
