Acclaimed Violinist MingHuan Xu to Replace Injured Lee-Chin for Enid Symphony’s Valentine’s Concert

Enid, OK — The Enid Symphony Orchestra presents a romantic but sad love story with the aid of acclaimed violinist MingHuan Xu’s performance of the traditional Chinese legend of Romeo and Juliet: Butterfly Lovers. In The Joan L. Allen Symphony Hall, the Enid Symphony Orchestra will also perform Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet, to make for a romantic date night or simply a treat with a professional orchestra right here at home.

You might also note MingHuan Xu was not originally slated to perform. Lee-Chin was excited to present this beautiful piece of music, however is unable to due to injury. Maestro Douglas Newell stated: “While we were truly disappointed and saddened to hear of Lee-Chin’s injury, it will be quite a treat to hear MingHuan Xu’s rendition of Butterfly Lovers with the incredible musicians of the Enid Symphony Orchestra.”

Tickets are still currently available for the Saturday, February 10 performance at 7:00 pm and Sunday, February 11 performance for 2:00 pm.

The mission of the Enid Symphony Association is to maintain a symphonic ensemble which will enrich the quality of life in the Greater Enid area and serve as a cultural ambassador to the region and state. This is to be accomplished through the presentation of predominately classical symphonic music to an ever increasing audience representative of the diverse population of our constituent community. The Enid Symphony Orchestra is the oldest continuous orchestra in the state of Oklahoma. With the help of professional Oklahoma musicians and the guidance of maestro and Musical Director, Douglas Newell, the Enid Symphony Orchestra has been entertaining Enid and presenting the classics for years.
