Long Lost Ring Reunited with The Owner

Enid, OK - Here's a feel good story from Enid, Oklahoma. A small group of local detectorists are always on the hunt for lost treasure around town. One afternoon they found a fairly valuable ring and made it their mission to return it to the rightful owner.
-
Mark Burns found the ring while out looking for treasure. The ring found was an Aggie ring from Texas A&M. Luckily the ring had the name Randdall Schmedhorst inscribed on it. Burns used some of his connections to track down the owner of the ring.
-
Schmedhorst turned out to be an instructor pilot with the Air Force at one time. He said he had left the base to go directly to his son's baseball practice with the ring in the pocket of his flight suit. Before long he discovered the ring was missing. Schmedhorst searched the area for the ring using a borrowed metal detector, he also checked the local pawn shops with no luck in finding his prized college ring.
-
When Schmedhorst was contacted, he was surprised and thrilled the ring had been found, he thought the ring was gone forever. He could not believe that someone would take time to locate him out of state and would be willing to return the valuable ring. He said he was stationed twice at Vance Air Force Base. Once as a student and again as an instructor pilot. He was thankful and praised the good people of Enid.
