Local Veteran Pens Book On PTSD

ENID, OK - Veterans Day is the perfect time to shine the spotlight on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder otherwise known as PTSD. This past week I met with a local man that had an incredible story of dealing with PTSD for decades without knowing what it was. He spent that time not knowing there were others "out there" suffering from the same disorder unaware that counseling was available.

Bob Jones, an Enid native, has written an account of living with non-diagnosed PTSD for 35 years, discovering the diagnosis and receiving the help needed to return to normalcy. Jones spent time as a soldier in Vietnam and returned to find himself unable to find closure on surviving the trauma that was war.
-
Jones has found that through continued counseling and a regime of prescribed medication he now has insight into being one of the "walking wounded". With the new-found knowledge gained from counseling, Jones decided to write this book. His hope is that the book brings a gift of perception to the family and friends of the afflicted.
-
The resurgence of "Fake News" in America today also prompted Jones to re-initialize his thoughts into print with the hope that his experience can somehow help others to understand, and to avoid impending similarities of the past. For many years Jones was lost, seeking to understand what evil had inflamed the American movement of his day and caused so many to turn their backs on the returning soldiers. He believes “They” are back trying to divide our nation.

The title of the book is "The Niggardly Ninth" and can be purchased HERE on Amazon. It comes in paperback or Kindle versions. An explanation of the title can be found in chapter 3.
