Karen Ann Stockwell

The services celebrating the life of Karen Ann (Lamb) Stockwell, Enid, will be 10:00am Monday, August 20, 2018 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kathy Bryant officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Del Norte Cemetery, Drummond, OK. Visitation with family and friends will be 5:00-6:00pm Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Karen was born September 23, 1938 in her paternal Grandparents home, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Lamb, in Council Grove, KS. She was the first of five children born to Frank Sr. and Irma (Meyer) Lamb. She peacefully went Home to the Lord on August 18, 2018 in Enid.

The family also lived in Lincolnville, Lost Springs and Medicine Lodge, all of Kansas. She was a member of the 1956 graduating class from Medicine Lodge High School. Karen married Frank Stockwell, whom she later divorced. They had two sons, Dale (deceased) and Jeff.

She held many jobs, including babysitting, working in the concession stand at the local movie theater, assisting a caterer and managing apartments. Then, she began employment with Kmart, where she stayed over twenty-four years.

Karen was a member of Central Christian Church, Enid where she sang in the choir. During the past ten years, she has been on the Caregivers list for visits and communion. It was a time of visiting with friends from the Church and a bright spot in her day.

Karen enjoyed watching golf on tv and always cheered for Tiger Woods.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Dale Stockwell.

Those left to remember her are siblings (in birth order): Larry Lamb (Donna), Drummond; Frank Lamb Jr. (Ceclilia), Enid; Linda Montfort, Dallas; Connie Lamb, Dallas. Also surviving is son, Jeff (Teddy) of Colorado Springs; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Caregivers Group of Central Christian Church with Henninger-Hinson acting as custodian of the fund.
