Family Video Has Moved West

ENID, OK - Family Video has moved across town to Sunset Plaza. The store was located at the corner of Van Buren and Maine but has now relocated to the old CherryBerry location at Cleveland and Garriott.

Family Video has reported in other states that they are doing great but are looking to downsize some of their larger branches. Many stores were originally built for VHS years ago and now that the industry has gone to smaller DVD's there's less space needed.

Over the last decade video rental chains and their brick-and-mortar stores are becoming increasingly rare. Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Hastings and others have collapsed with the rise of kiosk operators, such as Redbox, and digital streaming services led by Netflix.

Family Video is the largest movie and game rental chain in the United States. They operate more than 775 stores in 19 U.S. states and Canada. The company owns all of its real estate, and its locations are typically multi-tenant buildings that lease side units to pizzerias, liquor stores, hair salons or other businesses.

The compnay has developed more than 600 retail strip centers and count Fortune 500 companies as well as Mom and Pop retailers amongst their tenants. In 2012, they purchased exclusive Marco’s Pizza franchise rights.
