Eudine was born in Enid on March 26, 1927 to Gordon and Clara Meech. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 10, 2018. During high school she began attending Enid Bible Church where she met Willmer Parker. After she graduated from Enid High School in 1945 they were married on June 17 that same year and shared 60 years together. They had a son (Bob) and daughter (Karen).
-
Eudine accepted the saving grace of Jesus Christ when she was 12 years old. She and Willmer regarded their faith as the focal point of their lives. While attending Enid Bible Church they devoted their lives to young people through teaching in Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and Church Day Camp. Later in life she and Willmer attended the Mennonite Brethren Church where they continued working with young people through the Awana Christian Youth Ministry.
-
For 25 years Eudine worked out of her home for Marquise Studio retouching high school graduation pictures. She and Willmer moved to Golden Oaks Retirement Village in 1998 where she especially enjoyed working in the dining room as cashier until she was 88 years old.
-
She had many hobbies during her lifetime. She liked sewing, gardening, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and painting landscapes in oil, but by far her favorite pastime for almost fifty years was china painting, which she taught after moving to Golden Oaks. She was a member of the Enid Porcelain Arts Club from its inception and served as their President in 1979. She was also a member of the Oklahoma State Federation of China Decorators.
-
We will never know the full extent of Eudine’s impact for the Lord. Throughout her life she was someone many looked to for guidance and mentorship and she cared deeply about her friends and the people she worked with. She had a special calm and inner happiness. She was a serious student of the Word of God and had total confidence in her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. She was certain of her future in Heaven because she knew that it was not by any good works that she may have done, but it was the grace of God that she was saved by faith alone in Christ alone.
