On October 5th, 2018 at approximately 7:00 a.m. the Enid Police Department received a 911 call in reference to an unwanted guest in the 4800 block of W. Ritchie Ave. The female caller stated that they woke up and found a man sitting at their kitchen table.
-
The caller told investigators that the man, Tripper Beau Williams, was an acquaintance of theirs and when he was told to leave he walked outside. They told investigators that once he was outside, he continued to walk around the outside of the house and was looking in the windows of the residence. At this time John C. Gravlee went outside with a pistol and told the subject to again leave the property. Williams refused to leave and charged Gravlee, at which time two shots were fired. Gravlee told investigators the first shot was fired into the ground as a warning shot and when Williams did not stop, the second shot was fired striking him.
-
Williams was transported to Bass Hospital by LIFE EMS and later transferred to OU Medical Center in critical condition. At this time the incident is under investigation and the findings will be submitted to the Garfield County District Attorney’s Office for review.
