Dr. Harry Lynn Stevens

The man. The myth. The legend. H. “Lynn” Stevens, or Doc as many called him, passed away peacefully on April 22nd surrounded by family. Born and raised in Enid, OK by his mother Lola Jeanne and father Everett Meriam Stevens, he graduated from Enid High School in 1966.

His passion for knowledge led him pursue and earn a PhD from Kansas State University. He resided in Kansas for several years raising his two children while building his career in education. He served as the superintendent of schools for Rose Hill, KS for several years before moving on as the superintendent of the Haysville, KS school system, from which he retired.

A true cowboy at heart Lynn eventually made his way down Texas where he met and married his wife, Priscilla. In his retirement he pursued some of his many hobbies including cruising, gardening, and fishing. He was a great storyteller and advice-giver, always sharing his anecdotes with friend and stranger alike.

Lynn was a proud father to Clay (Holly) Stevens and Kylee (Luis) Pedrosa and grandfather (aka PopPop) to 9 grandchildren: Gabriella, Sebastian, Lance, Austin, Skyler, Carson, Dannie, Sammy, and Haley.

A memorial service celebrating and honoring his life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 in the Circle of Life Event Center in Enid, OK.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynn’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
