She was raised with her sister in Clifton, KS and on April 15, 1956 she married Virgil Tonsfeldt, raising their family in Fremount, NE. In 1977, the couple moved to Enid, making it their home.

Dorene worked at the First Presbyterian Church for 24 years as an Administrative assistant for the pastors at the church. She adored her work and had “Presbyterian” running through her veins. She was a doer and joiner, belonging to a sorority, PEO, Presbyterian Women, Eastern Star, and two bridge clubs. She was a Den Mother, Homeroom Mother, PTA President and chaperone to everything. The best mother and grandmother ever!
-
She delivered mobile meals to those in need, visiting those that did not have family in the area or could not get out themselves. She loved to travel, see and experience new things and went on mission trips to Peru, Czech Republic, Kenya and New Orleans.
-
Always putting her family first, Dorene was an amazing wife, homemaker, Mom, Gramma, Granny and Grammy! There is no doubt where she is now, in Heaven with her Savior, Jesus Christ, whole, healthy and still loving on all of us!

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
