Security National Bank of Enid, Eagle Marketing and the Chisholm Trail Expo Center are joining forces to help raise funds to purchase a K-9 partner for the Enid Police Department. Funds will be raised with the help of “dashing” dachshunds.

The program is called “Paws for the Cause” and will be held October 9, 2010 at the Expo Center. “We are calling it Paws for the Cause Dachshund Dash because there will be many paws racing to the finish line and hopefully helping to raise funds for the “cause”. The cause this year is to aid the Enid Police Department with the purchase of a K9 partner. The K9 partner is needed to succeed retiring K9 partner “Rex” said April Danahy vice president of corporate communications for Security National Bank and an organizer of the event.

The “Paws for the Cause” idea has been brewing for some time said Danahy. This year Security National Bank is in the midst of our “doggone great bank campaign” we floated the idea around. So many people and companies were ready to jump in, we decided there is no better time than the present.

Partnering with SNB is Eagle Marketing. “This is right up our alley”, said Eagle Marketing Director Frank Baker, “we love great promotions and being part of new ideas that help our animal friends, that’s important”. This has big potential and can be as iconic as Candy Cane Cash and the Red Dirt BBQ”.

There will be sponsorship opportunities and booth space at the event will be available.

The event will occur October 9, 2010 10am to 2pm. Forty eight dachshunds will have the chance to participate. There are some rules; the dachshunds do not have to be registered dachshunds but they must look, act, run and be a dachshund, the athletes must be current on their shots and cannot be aggressive. Entries are available at The Groom Closet 2005 West Chestnut in Enid or at www.paws4thecause.com.
