Convention Hall Set to Reopen

ENID, OK (October 4, 2012) – The City of Enid invites you to save the date! On November 18, 2012 historic Convention Hall, located at 301 S. Independence Avenue, will reopen as Enid’s new conference center. Opening the facility during the week of Veterans Day is a tribute to Convention Hall’s original dedication to World War I veterans. “This is a great day when Enid retained and renovated a historic facility that is an asset to the community and a wonderful improvement to the downtown area,” said Mayor Bill Shewey.

Opening ceremonies will include the downtown Veterans Day parade at 1:30pm which will conclude at Convention Hall. The facility will be open from 2pm to 5pm for the public to tour the 10,000 square foot Grand Ballroom, the 3,000 square foot Junior Ballroom, seven meeting rooms and board room. Each room in the facility will be decorated in a different theme to showcase the flexibility of the building.

Keller Taylor, General Manager of the facilities, commented, “The construction has moved smoothly with the Carter and W.L. McNatt teams and we are thrilled to be managing this facility for the people of Enid.” The Enid Event Center will open in the spring of next year and will host sporting events, trade shows and conventions.
