Autry to Host Mass Casualty Drill on June 6

ENID, OKLA.-- Autry Technology Center, is hosting a mass casualty drill on Wednesday, June 6, to better prepare Autry EMT students in the face of an actual event. This drill is being conducted in collaboration with multiple partner groups and agencies including Autry Cosmetology students, Enid Fire Department, Life EMS, Enid Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Air Evac.
-
This drill is important to test and train the response of the EMT students and emergency responders. In the event of an actual situation advance training is vital. The event, staged by Autry adjunct instructor John Ridge, will focus on response plans for an actual mass casualty event.
-
Preparation for the drill will begin at 2 p.m. with the actual drill starting at 6 p.m. The drill should last about two hours. Organizers caution that the event is a significant exercise and the local community can expect to see emergency responders at Autry Technology Center’s main campus looking and acting as if it were a true mass casualty event.
-
Please remember starting at 6 p.m. and continuing for at least two hours, Autry’s main campus will be locked down with no access except to emergency responders, as we conduct this drill," Ridge said.
