Autry to Host 2018 CNA Conference

ENID, OKLA. ¾ The 2018 CNA Conference will be held at Autry Technology Center on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. This event celebrating National Nursing Assistant Week will feature complimentary training geared towards achieving Quality in Care and Excellence in Care.

“We are thrilled for the opportunity to support our CNAs by providing a day filled with industry specific topics and giveaways for attendees,” said Ashlee Gore, Autry Business and Industry Services Coordinator. “We hope to reduce the burden on employers for professional development by waiving any registration fees. This day is solely meant to show CNAs that we know how important they are to our community and thank them for their hard work.”

The conference will be held from 7:30 a.m. to noon with a keynote presentation, “Creating a Strengths Fueled Life” and two breakout sessions. Breakout session topics include ADL Independence; Cognitive Disabilities; Infection Prevention; Older Adult Fall Prevention; Sex: Right, Consent and Abuse; Shot Party: The Flu, Residents and You; Patient Abuse and Neglect; and Unintentional Poisoning.

Autry Technology Center has been a part of the Enid community since 1967 and is one of 29 CareerTech schools across Oklahoma. The center has more than 25 career programs and offers a wide variety of evening and weekend short-term courses and certifications for many diverse career fields. Autry serves nearly 16,000 individuals each year, including many area employees who receive training through the Business and Industry Services Department that works with over 500 local businesses each year.
