Autry Offers Workshop about Starting a Nonprofit

ENID, OKLA. Autry Technology Center announced Get Ready, Get Set: What You Need to Know Before Starting a Nonprofit on Tuesday, March 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Autry’s Capital Room. This workshop will reinforce that “nonprofit is a tax status, not a business strategy and a good business plan is every bit as important in nonprofit work as it is in business development.”
-
Workshop attendees will learn the steps and mechanics of starting a nonprofit, legal and public disclosure requirements for a nonprofit and stages of development and engaging the board.
-
The workshop will be led by Jennifer Meckling, Director of Community Engagement for the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. Meckling joined the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits in 2014. Her role as a liaison between nonprofits and the Center serves to connect organizations with the resources they need to thrive.
-
The cost to attend is $20 and attendees can register online at autrytech.edu.
-
“Those wanting to start a nonprofit organization or business will find this workshop a valuable resource in their journey,” said Brenda Sheik, self-employment coordinator at Autry Technology Center.
