Miss Enid Alex Eppler in Miss America Finals!

Congrats to Alex Eppler, Miss Enid, for making the top 10 in the Miss America Pageant! The top 16 competed Sunday night on the live show on ABC.

Eppler was in Enid in June as the guest speaker at the YMCA Father/Daughter breakfast. Alex spoke to the girls and explained her platform. At that time we didn't know she would go on to win Miss Oklahoma! She took the time to teach hip hip dance to many of the girls at the event.

Eppler, won the Miss Oklahoma title at Oral Roberts University’s Mabee Center earlier in the year. Alex is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor of science degree. As part of her winnings, she received a $16,000 scholarship and the ability to compete in the Miss America pageant.

Eppler won the Lifestyle and Fitness category for the Miss America preliminary competition. Eppler wore a bright pink Catalina two-piece swimsuit and received a $1,000 scholarship for her win.

Eppler made the top 16 finalists to compete on the show. She was then chosen for the top 10 which competed in the talent competition. Eppler's talent was dance, which she actually does in Oklahoma City. Eppler was out of the competition when it was reduced to the top 5.

Miss New York Kira Kazantsev was crowned Miss America on Sunday night. This is the third year in a row that the contestant from New York has won.
