ENID, OK - April 12, 2017 – GEFCO welcomed its newest member, Scott Barker to the Astec Industries family on Monday, April 3. As President of GEFCO, Barker will have responsibility for creating new growth opportunities while overseeing the company’s safety and profitability as a means to ensure success of the company.

Barker has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA, both from Virginia Tech. His career included 15 years at Ingersoll-Rand Company that involved domestic and international experience with his last position being Worldwide Sourcing Manager – Drilling Solutions. Barker joined Atlas Copco in 2004 and spent 8 years as Vice-President of Production-Drilling Solutions in Garland, TX. Following his time in Texas, Barker was promoted and held two separate positions as a Division President with Atlas Copco in Sweden. “GEFCO has a strong history and a great reputation in the water well and oil & gas industries”, stated Barker. “The employees in Enid have a wealth of experience and deep knowledge of the business. I look forward to working with them to grow within our markets and find new opportunities.”

Barker is in the process of relocating to Enid and is excited to get settled into such an inviting city. “I have felt a warm welcome both at GEFCO and in Enid,” explained Barker. “As I drive through neighborhoods searching for my next home, I find myself steering with one hand and waving back with the other. That is refreshing. I am also impressed with the downtown area and enjoyed my first ‘First Friday’ in April. It is great to have such a variety of restaurants and shops in the beautiful downtown square.”
