Smokin' Jazz in Enid Tonight
The Smokin' Red Dirt BBQ event takes place Friday and Saturday at the Cherokee Strip Conference Center.
Check out more than 75 teams competing for cash prizes and bragging rights. This is a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned event.
30 teams will be participating in the People's Choice BBQ tonight. $5 lets you sample ribs from 6 - 8 p.m. and allows you to vote for your favorite. Roberts Ranch will also be serving free pulled pork sandwiches beginning at 5 p.m.
Rib lovers should enter the Rib Crib rib eating contest at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Enid Noon AMBUCS will host a barbecue lunch 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults. There will be vendor booths and special activities for children during the morning.
Main Street Jazz Stroll is tonight from 8 - 11 p.m. around Downtown Enid
16 jazz performances will be going on throughout the evening: BluesTiger at the main stage between Cherokee Strip Conference Center and Convention Hall; Nancy Dillard at Apple Annie's; Piper Leigh at Cafe Garcia; The Jazz Daddies at Callahan's; Doc Bryant Jazz Band at the courthouse Gazebo; Sheree Chamberlain at The Felt Bird; Vickey Rose at For You Boutique; Bill Benkendorf at Garfield Furniture; Donnie Record at On The Sidewalk; The Groove N Gs at Pastimes; Greg Stong at Scribner's; Kylie Morgan at Simpson's Old Time Museum; Big Blue Dump Truck at the conference center; Jim Nay at Soapweeds and Cactus; The Gene Pool at Q-Spot; and E-Town Rythm Kings at Panevino.
A fireworks show is set for 9 p.m. in the parking lot at Cherokee and Independence if it is not raining.
Proceeds help out Enid Habitat for Humanity and AMBUCS projects.
